Tory Lanez Takes Offense to ‘Profit’ Accusations After Releasing Freestyle in Support of 21 Savage
Tory Lanez has made headlines in recent months. His rap battles with both Joyner Lucas and Don Q have been friendly matches of the competition, with Lanez coming out as the victor both times. He also scored an international tour with fellow Canadian, Drake, that begins in Machester in March. Now he is taking a stand to support 21 Savage.
Many were shocked to learn that 21 Savage was arrested by ICE. A number of figures in Hip-Hop voiced their opinion and stood united to support the Atlanta rapper. In support of 21, Tory Lanez released a “Free 21 Freestyle” over the J.Cole assisted “a lot.” One fan was not receptive to Lanez’s freestyle and accused him of trying to gain clout from 21 Savage situation. Of course Tory quickly responded.
“Don’t do that…. leave all the bullshit out of this,” said the “Talk To Me” artist. “I’m from Canada and have first hand dealt with them border problems… and no one else seemed like they would step up and say something on a record about this.”
Tory has been the first to do so and may have progressed a movement with his freestyle. Salute to Tory for pushing the awareness in the midst what 21 Savage is dealing with. We were pleased to announce that 21 Savage was released on bond yesterday, but in the words of T.I., “the fight is not over.”
